FUTURELIFE® APPLE CRUMBLE

INGREDIENTS:

For the filling: 

3 Granny Smith Apples, sliced or diced

1 TBSP Lemon juice

3 TBSP Brown sugar

½  tsp Vanilla extract

2 TBSP Almond flour 

2 tsp Ground cinnamon

 

For the topping: 

1 cup FUTURELIFE® Smart Instant Oats Classic 

⅔  cup Flour, gluten-free

⅓ cup Brown sugar

½  tsp Ground cinnamon

¼ tsp Fine sea salt 

6 TBSP Unsalted butter, melted 

 

METHOD: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C, and grease a 9x9 baking dish and set aside
  2. For the apple filling:

- Add lemon juice to a large bowl. 

- Peel and core the apples, then slice or dice them and place in a bowl together with the lemon juice, tossing as you continue to add apples.

- Then toss apples with sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon and almond flour until combined.

- Transfer apples into the greased baking dish and set aside.

3. For the crumble topping

- In a medium bowl combine oats, flour, sugar, spices and salt, then slowly pour in the melted butter while stirring until fully combined

- Use hands if necessary to make sure the dry ingredients are fully incorporated.

  1. Add the oat topping onto the apple filling in the baking dish (no need to press down).
  2. Bake for 35 - 40 minutes, until the oat topping is slightly golden and the mixture along edges is bubbling.
  3. Allow the pan to rest and cool for 15 minutes before serving.
  4. Serve with your favourite fat free yogurt.
