Valke Rugby

With the onset of professional Rugby after the 1995 Rugby World Cup the South African Rugby Football Union allowed the commercialisation of Rugby in the country.

Each Province was allowed to sell 50% shares in a separate company to a commercial partner.

These original shares were purchased by SAIL (South African Investment Corporation) and Unitrade and since then there has been a number of share transactions and at this present time shares are either owned or represented by Action House International, a global Sports Marketing company based in Hong Kong.

The Falcons Pty Ltd, is responsible for the commercial rights associated with the brand and the operation of the Professional Rugby Team.

The Professional Rugby Team competes in 2 competitions in South African Rugby.

  • Vodacom Cup
  • Currie Cup
